Pastor Hudson is in his sixteenth year as pastor of Lackland Baptist Church.  During his tenure, the church has seen many changes.  All the buildings have been updated or renovated, including the Worship Center, and attendance has grown substantially.  During this same period, Pastor Rick has served the San Antonio Baptist Association as Vice-Moderator, Moderator, and now leads the Global Expansion Team.  In 2015, he earned his Ph.D in Pastoral Ministry from Newburgh Theological Seminary.  Pastor and his wife, Janet, have five grown children, seventeen grandchildren, and are the very proud parents of their son, thirteen-year-old Charlie.  Pastor Rick was the Bible Teacher for a weekly radio broadcast on KSLR Radio for four years, entitled “Restoration Road”.  

He preaches each week at Lackland, and has travelled internationally, preaching to over 100,000 people in 2019 in such places as Vijiawada, India, Belize City, Belize, and also taught in Israel, at the Jordan River. Pastor Rick is an accomplished musician, serving for fourteen years as Minister of Music in Texas and New Mexico, before entering a 24-year career in the funeral industry.
