Day One

The Demonstration of Divine Love

Romans 5:6-8

6 For while we were still weak, at the right time Christ died for the ungodly.
7 For one will scarcely die for a righteous person—though perhaps for a good person one would dare even to die—
8 but God shows His love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Devotional
God's love is not a mere sentiment or poetic declaration—it is an action that changed history. While we were still sinners, powerless and undeserving, Christ died for us. This wasn't conditional love based on our performance or worthiness. God took the initiative when we couldn't help ourselves. As you reflect today, consider how radically different this is from human love, which often depends on what we receive in return. God's love invaded our brokenness without waiting for us to clean ourselves up first. The baby in Bethlehem was God stepping into human history to demonstrate what words alone could never express.

Reflection:
How does knowing that God loved you first, while you were still a sinner, change how you view yourself and others today?
